Many residents have fond memories of the original shops and gathering spots in downtown Mimico, like the bowling alley and the popular Mimicombo roller rink. Most of these places are gone now, but the Mimico Centennial Library is thriving. Built in 1967, it has become a much-loved community hub that promotes literacy, and offers free language classes and programs to newcomers, children, and seniors.
